BRUIT ≤
Orchestral Post Rock
We reach the end of 2018 when the label Elusive Sound releases the EP Monolith. For the first time, the four musicians of BRUIT ≤ speak out through compositions that transcend the boundaries of musical genres, allowing them to hit the road for around twenty concerts across France and Belgium.
After returning to the studio, the French band released their first album “The machine is burning and now everyone knows it could happen again” in April 2021. That same year, they joined the Pelagic Records roster, and thanks to an outstanding reception, the quartet’s debut album propelled them onto the stages of some of Europe’s most prestigious festivals (Roadburn, Arctangent, Amplifest, Colossal Weekend, L’homme sauvage, Dunk, Damnation, Levitation France, Post in Paris…), with over 50 shows throughout 2022.
The band then gained solid live experience touring alongside monumental acts such as Amenra and EZ3kiel, earning a reputation as an unmissable live ensemble.
At the beginning of the following year, the EP Apologie du temps perdu was released. This ambient record celebrates contemplation and closes a chapter in the band’s history, before the project was put on hold as its members embarked on a world tour as the backing band for the legendary group M83.
Strengthened by this formative experience, they returned to the studio in 2024 to record their second album: “The Age of Ephemerality”. The quartet escaped the bustle of the road and withdrew to the heights of the Pyrenees to write five new tracks, later recorded in an ancient church in their hometown of Toulouse.
Released on Pelagic Records on April 25, 2025, the album explores new horizons while remaining true to the quartet’s sonic roots. The band’s convictions have remained steadfast over the years, and The Age of Ephemerality is no exception within their discography: the album is not available on major streaming platforms monopolized by social predators.
After a noted appearance in the KEXP studios in Seattle, the quartet hit the road once again to perform in August 2025 at the Pelagic Festival, followed by four sold-out shows before joining Alcest for an extensive tour that further cemented the project’s live reputation across the European scene.
