Mother’s Cake & The Tazers
MOTHER’S CAKE
„Disorder makes us feel comfortable. Lunacy is our fuel. Psychedelia is our ecstasy. We invite you to join us on an edgy journey off the beaten tracks. Six years of constant touring, writing, using – and abusing, made us who we are today. Yet we don’t like to tell our story through dull band biographies. Yes, we played a shitload of live shows all over the globe, won a couple of fancy sounding awards and shared the stage with artists we looked up to since first picking up our instruments. But this is not the story we’d like you to know. The chapters of our book are written on stage. This is the place where we absorb and release energy. Drenched in sweat and booze the border between stage and crowd becomes liquid. This is why we see ourselves as more than just any live band. People join our shows to plunge into musical rage. And there’s nowhere to hide. This is our promise to you. Come and see for yourself.“

THE TAZERS
Hailed as the wizards of South African psych-rock, The Tazers have their roots stuck in the ’70s while incorporating modern sounds and structures. This trio pack a high-energy performance that captivates their audience with fuzz tones, vocal harmonies and powerful drum rolls. The Tazers know how to entertain. The current trio consists of Jethro Lock (guitar, vocals), Timothy Edwards (drums, vocals) and Werner Jordaan (bass, vocals).
The Tazers have been extremely active since their inception in 2015. They’ve released 5 EP’s and 2 full length albums, which has led them to become one of South Africa’s leading psych-rock bands. They’ve played all the biggest music festivals and venues South Africa has to offer, and they always leave the crowd wanting more.
The band have also toured Europe 4 times, which saw them performing extensively in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, France, Netherlands and Italy to high acclaim. One of the most notable shows was performing on the legendary TV broadcast ‘Rockpalast’ during their appearance at Crossroads Festival in Harmonie, Bonn. The full performance was broadcasted on German national television & can be found on Rockpalast’s Youtube.
The Tazers were nominated for ‘Best Rock Album’ at the 2020 South African Music Awards (SAMAs) and received multiple film accolades & nominations for their music video ‘Plastic Kids’.
Recently, they have been growing their fan base around the world – reaching a huge milestone of 50 000 monthly listeners on Spotify when they released their new album “Fantasy Factory”. Alongside this, one of their hit songs ‘Wake Up’ has hit over 2 million streams on the platform. Their latest single also titled “Fantasy Factory” made it onto the Spotify Editorial playlist “ALL NEW ROCK”.
The ‘Outer Space’ single has also had airplay all over the world, most notably from major public radio stations FM4 in Austria and Radio Fritz in Germany. ‘Ready To Die’ was also featured on MTV Germany.
Although this three-piece fuzz band has accomplished a lot over the years, the truth is… The Tazers have only just begun.
